Autismo Ávila

About us

Autismo Ávila is a non-profit association founded in 2000, as a part of the Castilla-León Autism Federation and the Autism Confederation of Spain; which has the main objective of providing support to people with autism and their families, trying to improve their quality of life and promote their inclusion in those environments where they could find more obstacles. It offers different services: evaluation and diagnosis, intervention based in the needs of each individual, personal assistance, specific school for children with ASD, support centre for adults, households and intervention with families. All of this as a part of an individualized intervention plan, supervised by an interdisciplinary team. Furthermore, the organization establishes some social services like awareness campaigns about autism and urban signposting. It collaborates with different kinds of organizations, universities and institutions as well. Developing and participating in various projects, both within the national and European territory. Besides, It has an editorial, through which different manuals are published, not only for professionals but also for families.

Arturo López Fernández

Arturo López Fernández is a clinical psychologist specialized in Neuropsychology (by Master studies) who also has an “Update Master in Psychological Intervention an Mental Health”, and was part of the experts invited to “I Internacional Congress of Health Psychology in Valencia” with his work entlited: “Virtual reality and Autism Spectrum Disorder: a systematic review”.

He takes part of the nonprofit association “Autismo Ávila” (Spain) since November of 2019 as a psychologist, with the objective of offering support and improve the quality of life of the people with ASD and their families, working on the different kinds of services, mainly providing psychological attention. Furthermore, he is currently destined for different European projects (among which is the IVRAP project).
